It is now the 6th month of 2019, time flies, doesn’t it? Stencils are a crafting supply that can be used with many techniques. They are also inexpensive or you could make them yourself! Today I will let you see one of the many techniques you can use with stencils. Let’s check out the card.

The yellow background is made with a stencil. The card took about an hour to make and it is pretty easy to do. Continue reading “Shining flowers”

Cute Bunny Easter card

This year, Easter falls on April 21st. So I made an Easter card since it is also my task for Hobby Alternatief for today. But I don’t have anyone to give this card to, but would like to. Would you be interested in receiving this card? Then please look near the end to see how you can apply for a chance to get this card!

I felt this card was easy to make, but perhaps the small details make it a bit difficult too.  How easy or difficult a card is depends more on what you like or don’t like. I’m crazy about small details, that’s why I thought this card was easy to make. But because of the small details, it takes a lot of time to make a card for me, and this card took several hours to make. Continue reading “Cute Bunny Easter card”

A fun shaker birthday!

Hello crafters!  How have you been staying warm? I like to stay warm by curling up in my bed watching a show while crocheting. Or if I have to make a card, I’ll work in my craft area with my handy little space heater. Crafting warms my heart too!

Today I have something fun for you.

This is a fun shaker birthday card!  I personally find shaker cards difficult due to all the little bits and pieces, but if you’re familiar with making shaker cards, then this should be easy for you.  Overall, this card took me about 2 or 3 hours to make, and I had some troubles (you’ll see where later). An Alternative Valentine

As this is my first post (for Hobby Alternatief) in 2019, I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year!

The theme this time is Valentine since it’s coming up sooner than you think! My card is not your typical red, pink, and hearts valentine for someone you love romantically, but an “Alternative Valentine” card for someone that needs some love.

This card was created for someone that went through a divorce recently.  My husband and I want to tell the person that we are here for her, so I created this card. The design of the card is to show budding flowers “breaking out” of the box, and the flower that is falling out is not alone.  Oh yes, I enjoy telling a story in my custom cards! Hurray, Lily is born!

Merry Christmas everyone!  Nice that you come to read my post on this Christmas time. I’ve been so busy that I barely have time to craft!  And there are still many more days of partying to come!

This time, I have made a baby card for a little girl named Lily.  Although she is not born on Christmas day, I still thought it was fitting to show a baby card today. This card has a lot of fine details and steps, so it’s semi-advanced and took a while to make.  Here’s what the card looks like.

A lot of thought was put into this card!  First a little background: my neighbor asked me to make a card for her sister that gave birth recently. My neighbor and her family are Chinese and one thing they like are the different animals on the Chinese Zodiac. So I asked my neighbor the animal sign of her sister and husband and she said they were sheep and dog, respectively.  And of course, this year is the year of the dog, so Lily is also a dog sign. For the Worldly Baby (and news!)

Before I write about the card, I want to let you know that I have joined a Design Team!  The DT is for Hobby Alternatief, a Dutch craft store and blog.  Since I’m new to all this and still learning about it, I can’t tell you much more except that I will start writing blog posts starting in November for the website.  I will still continue with Happy Lucky Creations, no changes here, except that I’ll probably be posting more. Without further ado, my latest card!

I’m at a point in my life where many of my friends and family are having babies!  So I feel like all I make now are either birthday cards or baby cards.  My latest card is for a baby girl named Lotte.  It’s not your traditional baby card in the sense that it’s not pink because it’s for a baby GIRL.  I generally prefer baby cards not to be pink or blue because it’s boring that way!
