A card for Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is not until January 25th, 2020.  However, I thought I get ahead this time and make a card for my family!

This card follows a sketch is actually not very difficult, but I personally felt it was difficult because I had to measure a lot of things. Not that measuring is hard, but I’m a perfectionist and I like things to be exact! So overall, this card took me nearly two hours to make. I’m sure someone less of a perfectionist would do this a lot quicker.

What do you all think about glitter? I myself am crazy about all things that sparkle and shine! This time, I made a card with lots of glitter.

This is an easy card using the paper piecing technique and took about 45 minutes to make.

A Happy Place

It’s almost the end of the summer vacation; have you done anything nice? My mother-in-law bought a small caravan, so I made something for her to decorate her caravan.

This is a 3D image in a photo frame. It may look very difficult, but if you can make 3D cards, this is the same idea. This takes about two days to make, ultimately about 4 hours of work!

From small circles to a large piece!

Hi everyone! Are you enjoying the summer? For me, I started a new job in July that is a lot more hours, so I do not have much time or energy to craft as I like. And next week, I am going on a two week camping vacation (which means no craft room…). With so little time for crafting, it’s important to maximize what time I have. Today’s cards are like the 2-from-1 background cards, but with the use of scrap paper. This is definitely a time-saving technique!

The cards are pretty easy to make, and the technique I used only took about 20 minutes total, so finishing two cards was less than 1 hour of work!

For my sister

I try to make cards for my family member’s birthday as much as possible, but this does not always happen because I’m often very busy! But this time I had the time to make a card for my sister! I tried to make something more simple because I often make rather difficult cards.

This card is a beginner level card, took about 30 minutes to make, and I followed a Hobby Alternative sketch of the month.

Make your own 2-level turntable for your craft space!

Hi hi! Today I have something a little different for you all: instructions on how I made my 2-level turntable! This is really useful in your craft space, especially in a corner or if you do not have a lot of room.

All materials were bought from Action (discount store in Europe), except for the mounting glue, but you can also buy this from Action. This DIY project is really easy and took about 40 minutes to make. The glue takes a few days to a week or more to fully cure, but you can start using the turntable after day.

Butterflies make everything beautiful!

I think butterflies are really beautiful and I asked myself, “Why is that?” I think it is because butterflies are so symmetrical and people are generally attracted to things that are symmetrical. But I’m also a very analytical and have a scientific mind set.

The technique for today is “die cut monoprint”. Using this technique, I created two cards witht he butterfly monoprints, but you can also use the prints for a scrapbook or art journal. This easy technique takes about 15-20 minutes and the two cards took over an hour to make.

Look for a Star – Miniature music dome

Another miniature for you to look at… and perhaps inspire! Last time I made a little house in a tin box. This time it is a music dome with a café and appartment.

This was super fun to do and I didn’t do anything too special. I followed about 98% of the instructions because I find it relaxing to just follow the kit’s instructions and not need to think too much. From start to finish, this kit took 4 days to finish. It was also a bit more difficult than my last miniature kit, but not by a lot.

It is now the 6th month of 2019, time flies, doesn’t it? Stencils are a crafting supply that can be used with many techniques. They are also inexpensive or you could make them yourself! Today I will let you see one of the many techniques you can use with stencils. Let’s check out the card.

The yellow background is made with a stencil. The card took about an hour to make and it is pretty easy to do.
