Cute Bunny Easter card

This year, Easter falls on April 21st. So I made an Easter card since it is also my task for Hobby Alternatief for today. But I don’t have anyone to give this card to, but would like to. Would you be interested in receiving this card? Then please look near the end to see how you can apply for a chance to get this card!

I felt this card was easy to make, but perhaps the small details make it a bit difficult too.  How easy or difficult a card is depends more on what you like or don’t like. I’m crazy about small details, that’s why I thought this card was easy to make. But because of the small details, it takes a lot of time to make a card for me, and this card took several hours to make. Continue reading “Cute Bunny Easter card”

A fun shaker birthday!

Hello crafters!  How have you been staying warm? I like to stay warm by curling up in my bed watching a show while crocheting. Or if I have to make a card, I’ll work in my craft area with my handy little space heater. Crafting warms my heart too!

Today I have something fun for you.

This is a fun shaker birthday card!  I personally find shaker cards difficult due to all the little bits and pieces, but if you’re familiar with making shaker cards, then this should be easy for you.  Overall, this card took me about 2 or 3 hours to make, and I had some troubles (you’ll see where later). You can’t Resist this technique!

Good day! As always, thank you for your lovely comments on my last post.

Before I begin, I would like to share a little joke. When I first got the assignment for this card, I asked aloud, “What’s ‘color resist’?” My husband replies, “Make a black and white card and say that you resisted using colors.”  Well, I guess that’s one way to look at it! But I will stick to using my lovely colors….

So the card for today showcases the color resist technique. Unlike what my husband thinks, color resist is the resist of color going into the paper due to a layer of wax, an embossing/watermark ink, or a layer of melted embossing powder applied to the paper.  My card will showcase the latter: color resist with embossing powder.

This card is rather easy to do and takes about one hour or less to complete. Continue reading “You can’t Resist this technique!”

Hello everyone!  Thank you for the nice comments in my last blog post.

Last week, my husband went to America for a week for his work. I missed him very much, so I crafted a lot to pass the time!

Today I would like to share with you a page I created for my art journal titled “Money, money, money”. Total work time on this is about 3 hours because it takes time for each layer to dry.  Otherwise, this is a very easy project to do. Continue reading “Art journal: Money money money!”

Hurray, Lily is born!

Merry Christmas everyone!  Nice that you come to read my post on this Christmas time. I’ve been so busy that I barely have time to craft!  And there are still many more days of partying to come!

This time, I have made a baby card for a little girl named Lily.  Although she is not born on Christmas day, I still thought it was fitting to show a baby card today. This card has a lot of fine details and steps, so it’s semi-advanced and took a while to make.  Here’s what the card looks like.

A lot of thought was put into this card!  First a little background: my neighbor asked me to make a card for her sister that gave birth recently. My neighbor and her family are Chinese and one thing they like are the different animals on the Chinese Zodiac. So I asked my neighbor the animal sign of her sister and husband and she said they were sheep and dog, respectively.  And of course, this year is the year of the dog, so Lily is also a dog sign. This card is for RUUD!

Hey everyone! A friend asked me to make a card for her father-in-law and his name is Ruud. So I thought of making him a card similar to a card I made a while back for my husband’s grandfather. But as I started working on the card, I kind of consider this card version 2.0 because it just seems that much more cooler.
