It’s the busiest time of the year!  I’ve recently celebrated my birthday and we had a pakjesavond (Presents evening) party at our house this year.  And there are only more festivities to come with Christmas and New Year along the way.  So it’s nice to make an easy card instead.

So in this blog post, I will show you how to make a super easy washi tape Christmas card that takes only 10 minutes (or less) per card!  Not only is it easy to make, it’s also very versatile.

The card sketch.

This card was made following a card sketch.  The original idea of the sketch is for a Christmas card, but with a few alterations, this can be a birthday card, for example.  The large star could be a cupcake and using washi tape with birthday themes on it.  See how versatile this sketch is?

So easy to make, I made two!

Anyway, this card is so easy to make, I made two!  One in the colors red, gold, and white.  the other with the colors green, silver, and white.  Each card takes about 10 minutes to make.  What took the most time was choosing the washi tape.  This took the most time for me because I have around 600 different washi tapes!  Yes, I am a collector, but my goal is to use them before I buy more.  This task and sketch great for using washi tapes!

How did I make this card?  First I chose a few different washi tapes that looked good together.  For my cards, I chose 6 different tapes per card.  Then randomly start putting the washi tapes onto the card with it intersecting around the middle.  Cut off the extra washi tape.  Stick your topper over the intersection with foam tape.  My topper is a large star with stiched edges.

Tip!  With different washi tape designs and a cupcake image, you can make a birthday card!  Just an example of a variation.

And the last step is gluing the rhinestones with Ranger Glossy Accents. You can also use rhinestone stickers too.

Tip!  You can also use Ranger Glossy Accents as glue.

Personally, I think Glossy Accents is the best kind of glue to use when sticking rhinestones and other non-paper things on cards.

So, have you used washi tapes on cards before?  Are you also a fan of washi tape like me?

I would love to hear what you think of easy and versatile card sketches in the comments below.

Until next time, create happiness today!
