So Sweet!

I got a new die (the circles) and I wanted to use it, so I created this sweet little card!

It’s a clean and simple card so it was rather easy to put together.  I had made the little girl image a few days earlier, and she’s just so sweet and cute that she had to be used on a card soon!  I also really love this patterned card paper of the cupcakes and strawberries, and I thought it was also perfect to use the circle die to showcase one of the cupcakes.  It was not easy to choose which cupcake to use!

The sentiment “So sweet” is also a die which I cut out of black paper.  But I wanted it to be shiny like hard candy so I covered it in clear embossing powder and heat-setted it.  On a side note, the embossing powder I used is from Ali Express.  I also have a jar of branded clear embossing powder, but I have found that the name brand one is better for doing detailed heat embossing because it is so super fine.  If I were to used the name brand powder, I’d have to do at least 2 passes with the powder to acheave a smooth layer.  But with the Ali express powder, I only needed one pass for a smooth finish.

Anyway, the text “You are” is made with black embossing powder.  I then assembled the white cardstock together as you see, punched out the corners with my “butt punch”, and then glued it onto a sheet of the patterned paper.  Normally, I would cut off a piece of the patterened paper and glue it the top of a white card paper, but I decided that the patterened paper is just as good as a whole card (and the back of the card won’t be so bland either).  The inside of the card if blank though.

Anyway, after I took pictures of the card, I covered the lollypop with glossy accents, so it’s not shiny in the top photo, but you can at least see the shininess of the sentiment, as well as the cupcake!  Mmm, I love all things that glitter and shine!

This card was created for the following challenges:

  1. The Card Concept #90 {Sweet Treats} – The picture concept of the cupcakes inspired this card for the cupcake and the theme was also the inspiration for this card.
  2. Mod Squad Challenge – Simply Clean

I hope you enjoyed this sweet little card!

  1. HI Emma, thanks for visiting my blog and dropping me such a sweet note. My entry to The Card Concept Challenge is ahead of you. Your card make me feel happy and sweet, the little sweet girl and the lollipop. Besides, your CAS has lots of details, the die cut and the embossed sentiments. It’s indeed an awesome card.
