Bubble Wrap card – Cheaper than Therapy!

Another challenge card today!  This one is a hoot!  The challenge this time is Less is More’s challenge #343 – A Real Object.  Basically, you had to put a real object on your card.  This gave me the opportunity to make a card I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time, and here it is:

This card did not take long to make at all.  I first took a plain white top-folding card stock, assembled the words “POP!” with two alphabet clear stamp sets (the letters from a set I bought from Ali Express, the exclamation mark from Close to my Heart’s Tiny Typewriter Alphabet), and stamped the text with VersaMark ink all over the top of the card.  Then I die cut a tan piece of linen card stock and then also stamped the word “POP!” over it too, to give both my base and “topping” some continuity.

I then stamped “ENJOY” on white stamping paper with Versafine Black Onyx ink and cut that out.  Then I scored my tan die cut at 3cm from the rounded corner, folded it down and glued “ENJOY” on the top flap.  Next I trimmed the bubble wrap, folded it in half and stapled it in between the folded card stock.

Next, I first wrote the text “Cheaper than THERAPY” in pencil, getting inspiration from the font Haiku’s Script v0.9.  Then I traced over it with a black Bruynzeel fineliner, let it dry (sped up with my heat gun), and erased any stray pencil marks.  Finally, I taped the bubble wrap packet onto the card and the card was finished!!

This card was super simple and easy to make, and it is definitely a “Less is More” type of card because something simple like bubble wrap is so much fun!  Who doesn’t like (popping) bubble wrap?!  Also, the piece of bubble wrap actually came from a recent freebie I won over at Ali Express (it was wrapped around this necklace I won).  Basically, it would have been thrown away since it was a small piece, but thanks to the challenge, I was able to use it to make a card I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time!  Ahh, the stars, I mean, bubbles are aligned!

I hope this card has inspired you to go beyond your boundaries of card making and that it created some happiness in you today!  Now I better go hide this card or it’ll get popped “on accident”….
